As a celebration of its 25th birthday, last year the Leigh Folk Festival commissioned a talented, hand-picked team of artists to collaborate on a set of songs and compositions themed around the natural history, landscape, legends and folklore of the Thames Estuary. The work produced was magnificent, and the concerts that followed left audiences moved and impressed in equal measure. This will be the final performance of this unique suite of songs and music, and quite simply should not be missed. The team, which includes no less than three winners from this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, consists of HAZEL ASKEW, M.G. BOULTER, LUCY FARRELL, PIERS HASLAM, ROSHI NASEHI, NICK PYNN, ALASDAIR ROBERTS, and KATE WATERFIELD.
